Having a Neurospinal Chiropractor on your healthcare team to maintain nervous system health is no longer just a theory, it is a proven necessity. One of the most effective ways to understand this perspective begins with looking at the devastating effects a bad spine has on your health.
Everyone hears cliché’s about eliminating poor posture. But few truly know how dangerous poor posture is to overall health. A ground-breaking study published in 2004 proved a significant relationship between bad posture and early death from atherosclerosis and pulmonary disease. The study determined a 44% higher risk of death in those with the poorest posture.
The study pointed out that the posture with the most dangerous influence on heart and lung health was hunched-back posture. This posture presents with rounded shoulders, the head forward, a rounded mid-back and a forward-tilted pelvis. It’s worth noting that sixty percent of the entire workforce spends nearly eight hours per day in this posture at computers and desks.
Poor posture directly relates to the pandemic of ever increasing cases of heart and lung diseases in America. Medical solutions to this problem begin with drugs and surgery. Drugs and surgery not only cover up the symptoms, they have dangerous side effects that reduce quality of life. The true cause of many of these unwanted symptoms and diseases are being overlooked by almost every other healthcare provider except chiropractors who specialize in neurospinal corrective care. Every chiropractic adjustment improves health and quality of life. That statement is not a theory but a proven fact.
Improving this posture must include both adjustments and dedicated alignment training at home. With this specific posture, there are typically misalignments in the lower back and neck which must be addressed. There are also muscles that are imbalanced in the chest, upper back, core and lower back. These muscle imbalances have to be addressed very intentionally to help restore proper alignment and improve posture. This takes a dedicated approach to understand which muscles are imbalanced, how they are imbalanced and what movements are necessary to help in the restorative process.
That’s why we are hosting the Move to Improve workshop coming up on August 20th at 6pm. The posture referenced in this newsletter is only one example of many different ‘alignment types’. At this workshop, I’m going to show you how each alignment type effects your overall health, which muscles are imbalanced and even give you the opportunity to begin training your body according to your specific alignment type with a program called “Alignment Training”.
Alignment Training is a home exercise program that works with your specific alignment pattern, postural distortions and unique muscle imbalances. It works in three phases by:
1. Releasing rigid tissues
2. Retraining imbalanced muscles and
3. Challenging the nervous system
This program is designed to coincide with neurospinal corrective chiropractic care and specifically prescribed by your chiropractor. We will be offering Alignment Training at an extreme discount at this workshop and also offering guests the opportunity to plug in as well. This is a great opportunity to bring someone along with you who has not been exposed to Restructured yet. Make sure you get your ticket today for the Move to Improve workshop as the event is filling up fast!
